In February 2012, Indiana University School of Medicine – Evansville (IUSME) presented a proposal to the Evansville Regional Business Committee to seek their support for the expansion of the current two-year medical education program in Evansville to a full-scale four-year medical school and the formation of the Tri-State Regional Health Education Center. Tripp Umbach was retained to complete the comprehensive feasibility study.

Tripp Umbach’s final report allowed IUSME and partner institutions to make an informed decision regarding moving forward with expanding health science education programs in the region, recommended a model for graduate medical education (GME) expansion in partnership with regional hospitals and clinical sites, and determined the optimal site, size, and preliminary costs for facilities and operations. Additionally, the analysis estimated and communicated the potential economic impact of the proposed project.
