In the winter of 2016, the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) began a strategic planning process to update their 2015-2017 Strategic Plan. In order to complete this planning process, OU-HCOM contracted with the consultant group, Tripp Umbach.

The strategic planning process employed one-on-one stakeholder interviews with internal and external leaders, a faculty and staff survey, secondary data collection and analysis, and a series of strategic planning meetings with Board representatives, faculty, staff, students, Deans, and planning committees to review findings, develop goals, formulate strategies, and set timelines to achieve the strategic goals.

The focus of this process was to develop a 2018-2021 Strategic Plan to act as a road-map that will guide OU-HCOM during critical milestones related to focus areas and growth over the next three years and will ultimately position the school for success over the next 10 years.
