University of Minnesota Impact Study

In June 2017, Tripp Umbach was retained by the University of Minnesota (UMN) to provide a comprehensive impact study of the economic, employment, government revenue, and community benefits that arise from university operations. Impact analysis was conducted to measure these effects throughout the state of Minnesota and each Economic Development Region.

The University of Minnesota (UMN) is a public research university that is consistently ranked among the world’s most comprehensive and renowned institutions for academic, clinical, and research advancement. With five campuses located throughout Minnesota—Twin Cities, Duluth, Morris, Crookston, and Rochester, The University of Minnesota System provides important economic activity for the state. Overall economic impact of $8.6 billion, over 77,000 jobs, and over $470 million in state and local government revenues.
