FIU Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP
Demonstrating Long-Term Community and Economic Impact

The Challenge
Florida International University’s (FIU) Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP program needed to demonstrate how its innovative model of community-based healthcare continues to generate value for the state of Florida. With prior studies completed in FY16 and FY17, FIU sought an updated analysis to measure the program’s evolving economic and social impact.
How We Helped
Tripp Umbach conducted an independent economic impact assessment of NeighborhoodHELP for Fiscal Year 2024, applying the same methodology used in prior years to ensure consistent benchmarking. The study evaluated operational spending, workforce contributions, and the in-state expenditures of staff, physicians, and students to quantify the program’s statewide reach.
The Impact
The analysis confirmed that NeighborhoodHELP remains a powerful driver of economic and community benefit in Florida. The program’s operations continue to sustain jobs, generate state and local tax revenue, and strengthen the link between healthcare access and economic vitality—demonstrating the long-term value of FIU’s commitment to community health and education.
