Harris Health System

Advancing Community Health Through Data-Driven Insight and Collaboration

Harris Health Outpatient Center, located in Houston, Texas.

The Challenge

Harris Health System, a fully integrated public healthcare system serving Harris County, Texas, is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of its residents—particularly those most vulnerable and underserved. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, Harris Health sought a deeper understanding of its communities’ most pressing health challenges to strategically align programs, partnerships, and resources for greater impact.

How We Helped

Tripp Umbach partnered with Harris Health System to conduct a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) designed to identify and prioritize health needs across Harris County. The process included an extensive review of local, state, and national health data, along with stakeholder interviews, community surveys, and collaborative workshops to capture the lived experiences and perspectives of residents and healthcare providers alike.

The Impact

The CHNA provided Harris Health with actionable insights to guide its next phase of strategic health planning and investment. By identifying key priorities—such as access to care, chronic disease management, behavioral health, and social determinants of health—the study laid the groundwork for targeted interventions and stronger community partnerships.
With data-driven direction and community collaboration, Harris Health System is better positioned to improve outcomes, advance health equity, and ensure every resident of Harris County has access to quality, compassionate care.

Every successful project starts with a conversation.
