The Challenge

Founded in 1916, Kansas City University (KCU) is one of the nation’s original colleges of osteopathic medicine and a cornerstone of medical education in the Midwest. Today, KCU is the largest provider of physicians in Missouri and the second-largest in Kansas, with growing programs that reflect its continued commitment to innovation in healthcare education. Recent expansions include a Clinical Psychology doctoral program, an MS in Biomedical Science, multiple dual-degree offerings, and the launch of the College of Dental Medicine in Joplin.

How We Helped

In 2022, KCU engaged Tripp Umbach to facilitate a comprehensive strategic planning process aligned with the university’s mission of excellence in education, research, patient care, and community service. Through extensive stakeholder interviews and institutional analysis, Tripp Umbach identified strategic growth priorities and actionable initiatives to guide KCU’s development from 2022 to 2027.
