St. Anthony Regional Hospital
Guiding Community Health Priorities Through Collaboration and Insight

The Challenge
Founded in 1905, St. Anthony Regional Hospital has served the people of West Central Iowa for more than a century with compassionate, high-quality care. Guided by faith and a commitment to excellence, St. Anthony continues to adapt to the evolving needs of its communities through innovative programs and responsive healthcare delivery.
How We Helped
In 2022, St. Anthony Regional Hospital engaged Tripp Umbach to conduct a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to identify and prioritize the most pressing health and social needs in its service area. Tripp Umbach collaborated with an internal steering team to lead a community-wide engagement process, including stakeholder interviews with public health experts, social service providers, educators, and representatives of underserved populations. This assessment offered a detailed picture of the region’s health status, risk factors, and service gaps.
Based on Tripp Umbach’s findings and community input, six key health priorities emerged: mental health, cancer, maternity care, obesity and healthy living, tobacco reduction, and risky alcohol behavior. These priorities now serve as the foundation for St. Anthony’s community health improvement strategy—guiding future initiatives and reinforcing its mission to enhance the well-being of every resident it serves.
