Terrebonne General Health System

Strengthening Community Health Through Data-Driven Insights

The Challenge

For more than 70 years, Terrebonne General Health System has served as the leading healthcare provider in southeast Louisiana—delivering high-quality, compassionate care to its communities. As part of the Ochsner Health Network, Terrebonne General continues to expand its reach and resources across the Gulf Coast region. To better understand and address evolving community health needs, the organization sought a comprehensive, data-informed assessment to guide its next phase of strategic planning.

How We Helped

Tripp Umbach partnered with Terrebonne General Health System to conduct a 2023 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The process included extensive data collection—ranging from key informant surveys and stakeholder interviews to state, local, and federal health databases. The resulting CHNA reflected input from healthcare professionals, local officials, and community organizations, creating a unified picture of regional health trends, challenges, and priorities.

The Impact

The 2023 CHNA identified three key focus areas for Terrebonne General: chronic diseases, health promotion and education, and access to care. These priorities will shape the next phase of implementation planning—informing how Terrebonne General can strengthen partnerships, expand services, and align resources to meet the needs of the populations it serves.
Through this process, Terrebonne General continues to advance its mission of improving community health outcomes while reinforcing its role as a trusted regional healthcare leader.

Every successful project starts with a conversation.
