Building Georgia’s Next Generation of Nurses

The Challenge

Georgia continues to face a significant nursing shortage, with demand for healthcare professionals outpacing available training programs. The University of Georgia saw an opportunity to address this statewide need by establishing a new School of Nursing. To move forward confidently, UGA needed a clear, data-backed plan for development, accreditation, and long-term sustainability.

How We Helped

Tripp Umbach was engaged to prepare a comprehensive business plan for the proposed School of Nursing. Through detailed research, market and workforce analysis, and stakeholder engagement, we delivered a strategy that positioned UGA to expand its educational offerings and strengthen healthcare workforce capacity across the state.

The Impact

The proposed School of Nursing will expand Georgia’s nursing pipeline, improve access to education for future nurses, and align university resources with statewide healthcare priorities. By connecting academic strategy to workforce demand, UGA is positioned to advance health outcomes and shape the future of healthcare education in Georgia.

Every successful project starts with a conversation.
