The Challenge

Founded in 1976, The Wright Center for Community Health is a physician-led nonprofit dedicated to improving community well-being through inclusive, responsive healthcare and the development of a sustainable medical workforce. As the organization expanded its reach across Northeast Pennsylvania, it sought a comprehensive understanding of the region’s evolving health needs to guide future programs and strategic initiatives.

How We Helped

Tripp Umbach partnered with The Wright Center to conduct its 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The study combined public health data with insights gathered from stakeholder interviews and community engagement sessions. A dedicated steering committee helped lead the process, ensuring that the voices and lived experiences of local residents were reflected throughout the findings.

The Impact

Based on the CHNA results, The Wright Center identified five key priority areas for the next three years: access to care, behavioral health, chronic diseases, dental care, and social determinants of health. The process also revealed both gaps and areas of strength across regional service providers through a detailed community resource inventory.
Armed with these insights, The Wright Center is strategically aligning its programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts to address these pressing needs and continue advancing health equity and overall wellness for the seven-county region it serves.

Every successful project starts with a conversation.
